About the HEINEKEN People Internship
The People Internship at HEINEKEN is designed to provide graduates and final-year students with practical workplace experience in Human Resources, Learning and Development, and People Business Partnering.
Interns will gain a deeper understanding of HR processes, training administration, transformation initiatives, and learnership management — while working alongside experienced professionals who value teamwork, inclusion, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Interns will support the People team across several key functions, including:
1. Budget Control
- Capture and process Purchase Orders for the People Team.
- Assist in monitoring and managing HR budgets and expenditure tracking.
2. Learnership Programme Coordination
- Coordinate group-wide learnership programmes, from recruitment and contracting to registration and completion.
- Support learnership compliance and administration processes.
3. Learning and Development Support
- Assist with coordination, administration, and reporting of key learning interventions.
- Help organise and manage training logistics and attendance tracking.
- Function as a Learning Management System (LMS) administrator — including class closures and report downloads for the Skills Development element.
4. People Partner Support
- Support People Partners on HR initiatives and campaigns.
- Assist with coordination of virtual onboarding sessions for new employees.
5. Administrative and Project Support
- Provide administrative assistance across multiple HR projects.
- Coordinate vendor processes, catering, and travel arrangements as needed.
- Assist in the verification of HR and training data and preparation of internal reports.
6. Transformation and Skills Development Alignment
- Support the alignment of skills development initiatives with Employment Equity and Transformation objectives.
- Participate in grant funding processes and liaise with internal and external stakeholders.

Education and Experience Requirements

- Final year of obtaining a Degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Education, Training, or Development-related fields.
