Applicants can apply for learnerships in the following fields:
- Electrician
- Fitting & Machining
Minimum Requirements
To be considered, applicants must meet these requirements:
- Completed N3 qualification with the relevant trade
- Willingness to commit to the full learnership duration
- Must be a South African citizen
Learnership Details
- Duration: 2 years
- Agreement: Successful candidates will sign a two-year learnership agreement with Ilima Coal Company
- Programme Start Date: 26 September 2025
About Ilima Coal Company
Ilima Coal Mine, also known as Pembani Coal Carolina, is owned by the Pretorius Group of Companies (PGC).
- Located near Carolina in Mpumalanga, approximately 3 km east of the town, north of the R38
- Acquired by PGC in 2016 from Pembani Coal Carolina (PCC)
- Operates under a large mining right with both opencast and underground mining activities
- The colliery is structured as a 30-year phased development, making it a significant employer and contributor to the local economy
