Purpose of the Role
This graduate role at Fraser Alexander Africa is designed to support the divisional finance team with a variety of generalist responsibilities. The position offers exposure to financial reporting, taxation, process management, and compliance under the guidance of experienced finance professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting
- Assist the Financial Manager with preparing and developing financial reports in multiple currencies.
- Support offshore taxation processes.
- Contribute to financial analysis and reporting.
- Aid the finance team with process flow documentation and policy development.
- Assist with month-end and year-end processes to ensure accurate and timely financial closure.
- Follow up on queries from the division and escalate issues to the line manager when needed.
Governance
- Process financial transactions under supervision, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies, procedures, and legislation.
- Support internal and external audits, including performing account reconciliations to identify discrepancies.
- Assist with quality reviews of financial statements.
- Participate in project management and administrative tasks related to finance.
Record Keeping
- Support document management using platforms like OneDrive and SharePoint.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Grade 12/Matric Certificate
- BCom Finance or Accounting Degree (or relevant equivalent)
Experience
- At least 1 year of relevant experience is advantageous
Skills and Attributes
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles
- Basic understanding of VAT principles
- Proficient in MS Office
- Valid driver’s licence
- Ability to pass a medical fitness assessment
- Preference given to candidates who can start immediately
