Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet all the minimum requirements to be considered:
- Grade 12 plus a National Diploma in Internal Auditing
- An Advanced Diploma or BTech in Internal Auditing will be an added advantage
- Computer literacy, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Basic knowledge of Global Internal Audit Standards (GIAS)
- Understanding of corporate governance principles
- Basic knowledge of the local government financial environment
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Must be unemployed

- Must not have previously participated in an Internal Audit Internship Programme

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be trained and exposed to a wide range of internal audit functions, including:
- Performing internal audit tasks in line with the approved audit programme
- Assisting the Chief Audit Executive with the implementation of the internal audit plan

- Evaluating compliance with the MFMA and other applicable legislation

- Reviewing municipal systems for compliance with policies, laws, and regulations
- Conducting periodic verification of municipal assets

Conditions of Appointment

- Internship duration is two years
