About the Compliance Internship Programme
The Compliance Internship Programme is a structured, full-time internship designed to provide exposure to regulatory compliance within the financial services industry. Interns will work closely with the Compliance and Legal team and gain experience in compliance monitoring, reporting, and engagement with regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities
Interns appointed to the Compliance Internship Programme will support the Compliance and Legal function through a range of operational and regulatory activities.
Compliance Administration and Monitoring
Interns will assist with managing the complaints process, ensuring accurate record-keeping and timely resolution. The role includes monitoring adherence to legislative and regulatory requirements and supporting compliance monitoring activities in line with the annual compliance plan.
Regulatory Oversight and Reporting
The internship involves supporting FAIS oversight and fit-and-proper requirements for sales teams. Interns will assist with preparing compliance reports for management and regulatory bodies and help test internal controls to identify potential compliance gaps.
Training, Policies, and Regulatory Engagement
Interns will coordinate and track compliance training initiatives, contribute to policy reviews, and assist with implementing the organisation’s compliance framework. The role also includes supporting information requests from regulators such as the Financial Sector Conduct Authority and the Prudential Authority.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria to be considered.
Academic and Legal Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric
- A completed degree in LLB, BCom Law, Compliance, Risk Management, or a related qualification
- A completed Compliance Certificate will be considered an advantage
Eligibility Criteria
- South African citizen aged between 18 and 35 years
- Must not have previously completed a SETA-funded or Government-funded internship
