The South African Property Owners Association (SAPOA) is inviting eligible South African students to apply for bursary funding for the 2026 academic year. This opportunity is aimed at empowering future professionals in the property and built environment sectors through fully funded studies.

Who Should Apply?
The SAPOA bursary is ideal for students with a passion for property development, valuation, construction, and urban planning. To apply, you must:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be between the ages of 18 and 35
- Be currently in Grade 12 or have already completed Matric
- Be accepted or registered to study full-time in one of the approved qualifications
- Be enrolled at an accredited tertiary institution in South Africa
Study Fields Funded by SAPOA
SAPOA provides funding to students pursuing property-sector related qualifications, which include:
- BSc Architectural Studies
- BSc Civil Engineering
- BSc Construction Studies
- BSc Property Studies
- BCom Property Valuation and Management
- BSc Quantity Surveying
- BSc Real Estate
- Bachelor of Urban/Town and Regional Planning
- Postgraduate Diploma in Property Development and Management (PGDip)
These fields are central to South Africa’s property development, valuation, and management sectors, where SAPOA aims to promote transformation and fill skills gaps.
What the SAPOA Bursary Covers
The bursary includes comprehensive academic support to ensure students can complete their studies successfully. Coverage includes:
- Tuition fees
- Prescribed textbooks
- Accommodation
- Academic mentoring and tutoring
Note: Meals and monthly living stipends are not included in the bursary package.

- South African ID
- Grade 11 report or latest academic report (if currently in Matric)
- Matric certificate (if already completed)
- Proof of registration for 2025 or proof of application (if in Matric)
- Latest academic transcripts (if already studying at university)
- Parent or guardian’s ID documents (or death certificates if deceased)
- Proof of household income (latest 3 months’ payslips, affidavit, or SASSA letter)
- Unabridged birth certificate (optional)
- One-page motivational letter
- Curriculum Vitae (CV) – required only if already enrolled at university
