About the RCL FOODS SHE Internship 2025
The SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) Internship is designed to equip aspiring professionals with hands-on experience and technical exposure in workplace safety and compliance. Interns will work closely with the site’s HSE team to improve, maintain, and monitor environmental and occupational health systems that align with RCL FOODS’ safety standards and ISO 45001 Management System.
This role provides an opportunity to learn from experienced safety practitioners while actively contributing to real-world safety initiatives that protect employees, assets, and the environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
As a SHE Intern at RCL FOODS, you will assist the HSE department with key functions, including:
- Supporting the maintenance and continuous improvement of the ISO 45001 Management System.
- Ensuring full adherence to company Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) processes and procedures.
- Conducting and compiling routine safety inspections, audits, and compliance reports.
- Identifying non-compliance issues and developing action plans to address them.
- Performing both planned and unplanned safety inspections and producing detailed reports.
- Ensuring fire extinguishers and first aid kits are serviced, accessible, and compliant.
- Conducting and reviewing risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
- Assisting with data compilation for weekly and monthly HSE reports.
- Scheduling and conducting emergency response drills.
- Gathering information and participating in incident investigations.
- Keeping noticeboards updated with relevant safety and environmental information.
- Attending HSE statutory meetings, taking minutes, and assisting with documentation.
- Assisting in managing and tracking the CAPA (Corrective and Preventative Action) system.

Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the RCL FOODS SHE Internship, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Matric / Grade 12 certificate.
- Diploma in Health and Safety or a related qualification.
- SAMTRAC certification will be an added advantage.
