Who Can Apply?
To be considered for this bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a South African citizen
- Have passed Matric with a Bachelor’s pass
- Be in first year of study in 2025
- Be studying full-time at a recognised university or college
- Be unemployed and financially needy
- Be 35 years old or younger
- Have a strong academic and class attendance record
- Not be receiving any other bursary unless consent is granted by the Trust
- Be able to provide all required documentation and pass background checks
How to Apply for the Africa Cosmos Education Trust Bursary
Step 1: Download the Application Form

Step 2: Gather the Required Supporting Documents
Make sure all documents are certified (not older than 3 months) and arranged according to the checklist in the application form:
- ID-sized photo
- Certified copy of your South African ID
- Certified copy of Matric certificate
- Full academic transcripts
- Proof of registration or acceptance letter
- Tax invoice (tuition, accommodation, and books)
- Proof of household income and monthly budget
- Certified IDs and payslips of parents or guardians (or affidavit if unemployed)
- Proof of residence
- Police clearance or affidavit confirming no criminal record
- Two-page motivational essay (instructions provided in the form)
- Optional testimonial letter
- Proof of any current bursaries or student loans
