The Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA), in partnership with Sekhukhune TVET College, is inviting young South Africans to apply for its Electrician Apprenticeship Programme for 2025. This opportunity is designed to empower unemployed youth with practical training and nationally recognised qualifications in the electrical trade.

Programme Overview

  • Qualification: Occupational Certificate (OC): Electrician
  • Duration: 36 Months (3 years)

This apprenticeship is aimed at equipping participants with the necessary technical skills and hands-on experience to build a career in the mining and industrial sectors as qualified electricians.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Grade 12 with pure Mathematics (Technical subjects will be an added advantage).
  • NCV Level 2 – Level 4 in Electrical Infrastructure and Construction (all 21 subjects completed).
  • N2 – N6 Electrical Engineering qualification.

Important Notes

  • Applicants must be under the age of 35.
  • Preference will be given to students who studied at Sekhukhune TVET College.
  • Only applicants who meet the minimum requirements will be considered.
  • All shortlisted candidates will undergo assessment processes.
  • Successful candidates will sign the relevant ETA Agreement and Employment Contract.
