What the TTI Bursary Covers
The TTI bursary is a full-cost bursary that covers:
- Tuition fees
- Study materials
- Accommodation
- Monthly living allowance (for meals or transport)

TTI funds all fields of study at undergraduate level, with some support for selected postgraduate programmes.
Students enrolled or accepted at any DHET-registered public institution in South Africa may apply. These include:
- Universities (e.g., UCT, Wits, UKZN, Unisa, Stellenbosch)
- Universities of Technology (e.g., TUT, DUT)
- TVET Colleges (e.g., Capricorn, Lovedale, Nkangala)
- Agricultural Colleges

Cape Peninsula University of Technology, Central University of Technology, Durban University of Technology, Nelson Mandela University, North-West University, University of Johannesburg, University of KwaZulu-Natal, UNISA, University of Limpopo, University of the Free State, University of Mpumalanga, University of the Witwatersrand, Walter Sisulu University, and many more.
Who Should Apply?
To qualify, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be accepted or registered at a public tertiary institution
- Be pursuing your first undergraduate degree
- Be classified as Black (African, Coloured, or Indian in line with B-BBEE codes)
- Come from a previously disadvantaged background or the missing middle (combined family income between R350,000 and R600,000 per year)
- Have strong academic performance and excellent results
Preference will be given to students who demonstrate high academic potential and commitment to their studies.

Applications are open throughout the year, and you can apply at any time by following these steps:

- Click the “Apply Now” button
- Select “Create New Account” to register
- Log in and complete your online bursary application
Required Supporting Documents
You must submit the following certified and up-to-date documents with your online application:
- A copy of your South African ID
- Proof of registration or acceptance at a public institution (on the institution’s letterhead)
- Full academic transcript, including your most recent results
- A profile photo (head and shoulders)
