Who Should Apply?

To qualify, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Be a South African citizen
  • Be accepted or registered at a public tertiary institution
  • Be pursuing your first undergraduate degree
  • Be classified as Black (African, Coloured, or Indian in line with B-BBEE codes)
  • Come from a previously disadvantaged background or the missing middle (combined family income between R350,000 and R600,000 per year)
  • Have strong academic performance and excellent results

Preference will be given to students who demonstrate high academic potential and commitment to their studies.
