Eligibility Requirements
To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Be currently in Matric (2025) or have recently completed it
- Studying or intending to study in one of the approved fields at a recognised South African university
- Entering 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of study in 2026
- Achieved at least 65% in Mathematics, Physical Science, and English in Matric (if not yet in university)
- If already at university, maintained a minimum 60% overall average
- Must have a strong academic record
- Preference will be given to students from local communities near Namakwa Sands sites (Saldanha and Matzikama Municipalities)
- Female students and students with disabilities are encouraged to apply
