The South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) is calling on unemployed South African youth to apply for its Business Administration Learnership Programme 2025/2026.

About the Learnership
SAHPRA, in partnership with the Health and Welfare Sector Education and Training Authority (HWSETA), is offering a 12-month accredited learnership that leads to a Further Education and Training Certificate: Business Administration (NQF Level 4).
The programme blends classroom-based learning with workplace experience, equipping participants with the skills and practical knowledge needed to succeed in administration while supporting SAHPRA’s crucial role in protecting public health by regulating medicines, medical devices, and related products.
Minimum Entry Requirements
To be considered, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a Grade 12 (Matric) or N4/N5/N6 certificate
- Be a South African citizen with a valid ID
- Be between the ages of 18 and 35
- Currently unemployed and not registered for any other learnership
- Have no criminal record and a clear credit history
- Reside in, or be willing to travel to, Pretoria for the programme
Note: Preference will be given to persons with disabilities and candidates from designated groups.
Programme Structure and Benefits
- Duration: 12 months, full-time
- Qualification: NQF Level 4 Business Administration certificate
- Training: Accredited classroom learning combined with workplace training at SAHPRA offices in Pretoria
- Stipend: Monthly allowance paid to learners
- Assessment: Ongoing competency assessments and submission of a Portfolio of Evidence (PoE)
- Outcome: Nationally recognised qualification plus hands-on workplace experience in healthcare administration
Key Responsibilities of Learners
Selected participants will be required to:
- Attend all training sessions and complete assessments on time
- Gain practical administrative experience, including document handling, workflow management, and event coordination
- Compile and submit a final Portfolio of Evidence
- Support SAHPRA’s regulatory processes through administrative functions
