Who Can Apply?
To be eligible, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be a South African citizen.
- Be Black (African, Indian or Coloured) as defined by the B-BBEE Act.
- Currently be in Grades 8 to 11.
- Show excellence in academics or sports.
- Be motivated, disciplined, and determined to succeed.
- Come from a financially needy household with a combined gross income of no more than R45 000 per month.
Academic Scholarship Requirements
- Minimum 65% in Mathematics.
- Minimum 65% in English.
- Minimum 65% overall average in the latest academic report.
Sports Scholarship Requirements
- Must have received provincial or national colours in one or more of the top 20 ranked sports in South Africa.
- Must maintain at least a 60% academic average.

Applicants must submit clear, certified copies of the following documents:
- South African ID document or Birth Certificate.
- School reports: 2024 Term 4 and 2025 Terms 1 & 2.
- Parents’ or guardians’ ID documents.
- Parents’ or guardians’ proof of income:
- Payslips if employed.
- Affidavit plus 3 months’ bank statements if unemployed.
- Proof of SASSA grant if applicable.
- Parents’ or guardians’ proof of address.
- A motivational letter (1 page) written by the applicant.
