About the Bursary Programme

Who Can Apply?
Applicants must meet the following requirements to qualify:
- Must be a resident of Rand West City Local Municipality (Gauteng).
- Currently in Matric or have already completed Matric.
- Planning to study full-time towards an undergraduate qualification in one of the listed fields.
- Accepted or provisionally accepted at a public university or institution of higher learning in South Africa.
- Enrolled in a programme with a minimum duration of 1 year or 3–4 academic years.
- Household income must be R350 000 per annum or less.
- Preference will be given to applicants from families on the indigent database or from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Required Supporting Documents
Applicants are required to submit the following certified documents (certification must not be older than 6 months):
- South African ID copy.
- Latest Matric results (if currently in Matric) or Matric certificate (if completed).
- Recent academic record (if already studying).
- Proof of application, admission, or provisional acceptance at a tertiary institution (must include course duration, tuition costs, and scope).
- Proof of residence.
- Parents’ or guardians’ ID copies.
- Parents’ death certificate(s), if applicable.
- Household income proof: latest payslips, affidavit (if unemployed/self-employed), or proof of social grants.
- Doctor’s certificate (if permanently disabled).
Note: Incomplete applications will not be considered.
