Programme Overview

Position: Quality & Laboratory Intern (Data Processing & Analytics emphasis)
Duration: 12 months (Monday–Friday)
Reporting to: Quality Manager
Location: Broederstroom, North West

This internship focuses on providing both technical laboratory training and data management experience, giving interns a complete understanding of quality control, analytical chemistry, and laboratory information handling.

Key Responsibilities

1. Quality System Support

  • Manage document control: filing, distribution, and tracking of records.
  • Assist with audit preparations and vendor evaluations.
  • Record non-conformances and track corrective and preventive actions.

2. Laboratory & Production Support

  • Perform basic analytical chemistry and sample preparation under supervision.
  • Support QA/QC monitoring on the production floor.
  • Assist with the Proficiency Testing (PT) and Quality Reference Material (QRM) teams in labelling, packaging, and record-keeping.

3. Data Management & Analysis

  • Compile, process, and analyse laboratory and production data using Microsoft Excel.
  • Assist in data collection for homogeneity and stability studies.
  • Generate basic quality control charts and summary reports.

Minimum Requirements

Education

Applicants must hold a completed three-year tertiary qualification in one of the following fields:

  • Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry
  • Agricultural Science or Food Science
  • Geoscience or related Natural Science disciplines

Technical Skills

  • Essential: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Advantageous: Understanding of basic laboratory techniques and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)
