The HR Intern will support the Human Resources department with administrative, system, reporting, and coordination duties that ensure smooth HR operations across the business.
Key Responsibilities and Areas of Exposure
General HR Administration and Office Support
The intern will assist with all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including:
- New engagements, employee changes, benefits administration, leave analysis, and terminations
- Communicating payroll deadlines and HR procedures
- Responding to HR-related queries from employees and management
- Preparing and distributing HR correspondence
- Maintaining accurate and confidential employee records
- Supporting monthly HR reports and quarterly review packs
HR Systems and Payroll Support
- Initiating and tracking SAP workflows for recruitment, changes, overtime, allowances, and terminations
- Ensuring payroll trackers are updated and payroll changes are reflected correctly
- Generating HR reports and Excel-based analyses
Learning and Development Administration
- Tracking training initiatives across business units
- Supporting Workplace Skills Plan (WSP), Annual Training Report (ATR), and Employment Equity plans
- Coordinating training sessions, induction programmes, and educational assistance
- Responding to training-related queries from staff and management
Performance Management Support
- Collating Individual Performance Agreements (IPAs) for goal setting and reviews
- Maintaining trackers and filing performance documentation accurately

Employee Relations Support

Employee Benefits Administration
- Administering medical aid, provident fund, and pension-related processes
- Supporting annual benefit audits

Minimum Requirements
