The Phakamile Mabija Apprenticeship Programme 2025 is an excellent opportunity for young people in the Northern Cape to build careers in technical trades. Aimed at unemployed South African youth between 18 and 35 years old, this initiative combines classroom learning with hands-on workplace training. Successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend and, upon completion, a nationally recognised Red Seal qualification, opening doors to lifelong employment.

Available Trades for 2025
Applicants can apply for training in the following artisan fields:
Boilermaking
- Requirement: N2 qualification with passes in Engineering Mathematics, Engineering Science, Drawings, and Boilermaking Trade Theory
Fitting and Turning
- Requirement: N2 qualification with passes in Engineering Mathematics, Engineering Science, Drawings, and Fitting & Turning Trade Theory
Welding
- Requirement: Level 4 qualification with passes in Engineering Mathematics, Engineering Science, Drawings, and Platers Trade Theory
Refrigeration
- Requirement: N2 qualification with passes in Engineering Mathematics, Engineering Science, Drawings, and Electrical Trade Theory

- Updated CV
- Certified copies of ID and relevant qualifications
- Proof of residence
- SARS registration number
- Proof of banking details
