About the Old Mutual Bursary 2026
The Old Mutual Bursary 2026 provides full financial support for students pursuing Accounting Science (Chartered Accounting stream) or Actuarial Science. More than just financial assistance, the bursary also offers mentorship, exposure to the workplace, vacation work opportunities, and guaranteed employment at Old Mutual upon graduation.
The bursary covers essential costs such as:
- Tuition fees
- Prescribed study materials
- Meals
- Accommodation in university residences
- Return flights home for students studying away from their hometown

Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the bursary, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be a South African citizen.
- Attain at least 80% in Mathematics, 60% in English Home Language or 70% in English First Additional Language, and 70% in all other subjects.

Important Notes
- Applicants under the age of 18 must provide parental or guardian consent.
- Candidates with disabilities and those from designated or previously disadvantaged groups will receive preference.
- Financial need will also be considered.

Application Instructions

Candidates will need to follow the steps below:
- Begin the application process by downloading and filling out the bursary motivation form
- Afterwards, complete the online application, which includes a gamified assessment (not timed) Remember to attach a one-page CV
- If you are shortlisted, you will receive a link to complete psychometric assessments
- Finalists will be invited to attend a selection day, during which interviews will be conducted
- Upon successful selection following the interview, you will receive a provisional offer. This offer will be confirmed upon submission of your final matric results and proof of acceptance into an Actuarial Science or Accounting Science program at a university.

- School reports for Grades 10 to 12
- University acceptance or conditional acceptance letter (if applicable)
- One-page CV
- Full academic transcript (for current university students)
- Completed bursary motivation form
- Certified copy of ID
- Matric certificate (if applicable)
All applications will be carefully verified. Any falsified information will result in immediate disqualification. Shortlisted candidates may also be required to undergo automated screening questions and online assessments.
