About the Internship Programme
The Northern Coal Engineering Internship Programme 2025/2026 is designed for unemployed South African graduates looking to launch a career in the mining industry. This 12-month internship provides hands-on experience, industry exposure, and professional mentorship, equipping participants with the practical skills needed to thrive in mining and engineering roles.

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the Northern Coal Internship Programme, applicants must:
- Hold a Degree or National Diploma in one of the listed engineering fields.
- Be a South African citizen aged 18–35 years.
- Provide proof of residence (municipal account or affidavit).
- Submit a comprehensive CV.
- Attach certified copies of ID, academic records, and qualification or completion letter.
- Be recently graduated or completing studies, with no prior full-time work experience in the field.
Health & Safety Requirement:
Successful candidates must hold or be able to obtain a certificate of fitness as required by the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA).
