About the Internship
NACOSA seeks Human Resources (HR) Interns to support daily HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, record management, and compliance activities. This internship is an opportunity for young graduates to gain hands-on experience within a professional HR team in the non-profit health and social development sector.

Key Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of the HR Intern include, but are not limited to:
- Providing day-to-day administrative and office support to the HR team.
- Maintaining and managing employee records such as contracts, leave, and training documentation.
- Assisting with filing, data entry, and document verification for payroll preparation.
- Supporting recruitment processes, including posting job adverts, screening CVs, and scheduling interviews.
- Conducting background and reference checks on candidates.
- Assisting in onboarding new employees and preparing induction documentation.
- Helping to coordinate and document training sessions and wellness activities.
- Supporting the HR team in ensuring compliance with labour laws, HR policies, and procedures.
- Assisting with employee relations (IR) matters, including investigations and disciplinary documentation.
- Upholding NACOSA’s values and principles in all work-related tasks.
Requirements
To qualify for the NACOSA HR Internship 2025, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Educational Qualifications
- A National Senior Certificate (Matric / Grade 12) is required.
- A relevant Diploma (N6 Certificate) from a recognised TVET College.
Knowledge and Skills
- Basic understanding of South African labour legislation (BCEA, EEA, OHSA).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Familiarity with payroll or HR systems (advantageous).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
- A proactive attitude and ability to work well within a team environment.
