About the Programme
Mondi’s Work Integrated Learning Programme is designed to align with the organisation’s long-term skills development strategy. The aim is to equip participants with practical, job-ready experience in the Pulp and Paper industry, preparing them for entry-level operational roles.
Participants will undergo structured training and development focused on safety, quality, and production processes. On successful completion, candidates will be deemed competent to take on operational responsibilities within Mondi.

Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this learning opportunity, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
- A Diploma in Chemical Engineering and/or Pulp & Paper Technology
- A minimum 60% average academic pass rate
- Completion of P1 and P2 practical work experience in a heavy industrial environment (advantageous)
- A valid South African driver’s licence
What You’ll Learn: Key Deliverables
During the programme, participants will receive training in essential workplace and industry-specific skills, including:
- Navigating digital systems such as SAP and Microsoft Office
- Basic understanding of chemical safety protocols
- Performing entry-level production tasks:
- Housekeeping
- Pre-start equipment checks
- Assisting with plant start-ups and shutdowns
