Duties and Responsibilities

During the internship, successful candidates will be expected to:

  • Execute daily tasks and instructions from the Station Officer.
  • Test, inspect, and maintain firefighting vehicles and equipment.
  • Clean and ensure the readiness of all operational tools and vehicles.
  • Report any malfunctions or faults to the supervising officer.
  • Assist in fire suppression operations and rescue missions.
  • Respond to grass, wildland, and structural fires.
  • Participate in rescue and recovery operations.
  • Safeguard life and property during emergencies.
  • Support control room operations when required.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by senior officers.

Remuneration and Contract Information

  • Stipend: R8,786.58 per month (R105,439.00 per annum)
