About the LPGSA Bursary Competition
The LPGSA Bursary Competition is an initiative designed to uplift and equip women with the technical skills needed in the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) sector. The bursary covers:
- Theory and practical training in LPG Residential Installation.
- Registration with the South African Qualification & Certification Committee (SAQCC).
Winners will be contacted directly by telephone or email and officially announced on the LPGSA website and social media platforms within four weeks after the competition’s closing date.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the LPGSA Bursary Competition 2026, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Must be female and from a previously disadvantaged background (BB-BEE).
- Must be between 18 and 45 years old.
- Must have passed Grade 9 English or higher.
- Must have studied STEM subjects (Grade 9 and above) or TVET technical science.
- Must not be an employee of LPGSA, its sponsors, or an immediate relative of such employees.
- Must read and agree to the terms of the bursary competition (.pdf) before applying.

- A certified copy of your latest school or TVET results (on official letterhead).
- A PowerPoint presentation (maximum 20 slides) in English addressing the topic:
“Based on your community energy needs”, and answering these questions:
- What are the available sources of energy currently used by households?
- What impact will LPG adoption have on your community’s energy needs?
- What socio-economic issues will be addressed through LPG adoption, and how would you address them?
- How will becoming a Domestic LPG Installer change your life?
Shortlisted candidates will be required to present their PowerPoint presentation to the selection panel — either in person or virtually.
