About the Apprenticeship
Gijima’s Middelburg Training Centre offers accredited occupational training that prepares learners to become qualified artisans. The 2025 intake includes two key trades:
- Mechanical Fitter
- Electrician
This programme combines classroom learning with hands-on, practical experience—equipping you with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in the engineering and technical field.
Minimum Entry Requirements
To apply, you must meet the following minimum requirements:
N2 Engineering Certificate with these subjects:
For Mechanical Fitter applicants:
- Mathematics
- Engineering Science
- Technical Drawings
- Fitting Theory
For Electrician applicants:
- Mathematics
- Engineering Science
- Industrial Electronics
- Electrical Trade Theory
Additional Requirements:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must live in Mpumalanga or Limpopo Province
- Technical aptitude and a willingness to learn
- Teamwork skills and a good work ethic

- Medical fitness test
- Qualification verification
