About the Programme

The Garden Route District Municipality (GRDM) continues its commitment to youth development through the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP). For 2025, GRDM is calling on unemployed youth across the district to apply for the Law Enforcement Ambassadors Programme—a seven-month initiative designed to empower participants with skills, promote community safety, and create pathways to employment.

This opportunity is available across all local municipalities in the Garden Route, including Kannaland, Hessequa, George, Oudtshoorn, Knysna, and Bitou.


Programme Overview

The EPWP Law Enforcement Ambassadors Programme provides participants with exposure to law enforcement practices and community safety activities. Successful candidates will contribute to:

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Hold a Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
  • Possess a valid police clearance certificate, or proof of payment for one.
  • Be fluent in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape.
  • Be a South African citizen between the ages of 18 and 35.
  • Be unemployed and not currently part of another learnership, internship, or WIL programme.
  • Reside within the Garden Route District municipal area.
