The Garden Route District Municipality (GRDM) is calling on eligible learners and students to apply for its bursary programme for the 2026 academic year. This initiative provides financial assistance to support young people in the Garden Route district to pursue their studies at accredited institutions.

About the GRDM Bursary

The GRDM bursary programme is aimed at promoting fair access to higher education for learners whose parents are permanent residents within the Garden Route municipal area.

Key points to note:

  • Funding is available for full-time studies only at SAQA-accredited tertiary institutions and TVET colleges.
  • Preference will be given to applicants who can demonstrate both financial need and academic potential.

Eligibility and Requirements

Applicants must provide the following supporting documents with their application:

  • Completed GRDM Bursary Application Form.
  • Detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV).
  • Motivation/cover letter.
  • Certified copy of Grade 12 results or equivalent qualification.
  • Latest academic transcript (if already studying at tertiary level).
  • Certified copy of South African ID.
  • Affidavit showing parents’ combined household income.
  • Proof of residence (such as a municipal account).

Please note: Only fully completed applications with all the required documentation will be considered.
