Ga-Segonyana Local Municipality & Assmang Black Rock Mine Bursaries 2026

The Ga-Segonyana Local Municipality, together with Assmang Black Rock Mine Operations, is offering an important study opportunity for young people who want to further their education. The 2026 Full-Time Bursary Programme provides five opportunities for qualifying students who will be studying full-time at approved South African Universities or Universities of Technology.

Funding Bursaries

Who Can Apply?

To qualify, applicants must:

Be South African citizens as defined in the South African Citizenship Act 88 of 1995
Live within the Ga-Segonyana Local Municipality area
Be between 18 and 35 years old
Be a matric learner who qualifies for university entry, or a current first, second or final-year student
Not receive any other bursary or student loan
Come from a historically disadvantaged background and be financially in need

Selection Criteria

Applicants will be evaluated according to the following:

A Level 5 (60%) or higher in Mathematics and Physical Science for Science and Engineering fields
A 60% overall average for all other study areas
Students must pass and progress to the next academic year
Preference goes to historically disadvantaged groups
Meeting the means test requirements
Only public universities and universities of technology are accepted

Required Supporting Documents

Applicants must provide the following:

Proof of acceptance from a University or University of Technology for 2026
Certified copy of ID
Affidavit confirming parent or guardian income or social/pension grant
Certified Grade 12 results
Certified full academic record if already enrolled
Proof of admission
Proof of residence within Ga-Segonyana Local Municipality

Applications that do not include all required documents will not be reviewed.
