Free State Premier TVET NCV Level 4 Internship Programme 2026

The Office of the Premier invites Free State TVET NCV Level 4 graduates to apply for 50 student internship opportunities for 2026.

Introduction

The Office of the Premier in the Free State Province has opened applications for its Student Internship Programme for 2026, offering 50 internship opportunities to unemployed TVET NCV Level 4 graduates. This programme is aimed at young people who have completed their NCV Level 4 qualification but are struggling to gain the workplace exposure required to enter the job market.

The internship is designed specifically to bridge the gap between qualification and experience, while exposing participants to real public-sector working environments across various districts in the Free State.

About the Office of the Premier – Free State Province

The Office of the Premier serves as the highest executive authority within the Free State Provincial Government. It plays a central role in coordinating provincial development initiatives, youth empowerment programmes, skills development projects, and public service capacity-building efforts.

By hosting student interns, the Office of the Premier provides structured exposure to government administration, policy implementation, and professional workplace standards. Internship experience gained under this office carries credibility and strengthens future employment prospects within both the public and private sectors.

About the Student Internship Programme

The Student Internship Programme is a government-supported intervention designed to support unemployed youth who hold TVET NCV Level 4 qualifications. The programme focuses on providing practical workplace exposure rather than casual or temporary employment.

Interns will be placed in various districts across the Free State Province, where they will gain hands-on experience aligned to their field of study while developing essential workplace and professional skills.

Why This Internship Matters

Many TVET graduates remain unemployed not because they lack qualifications, but because they lack practical experience. This internship directly addresses that challenge by creating structured entry points into the workplace.

Through this programme, participants benefit from:

  • Practical workplace exposure
  • Experience within government departments
  • Improved employability
  • Professional references
  • Stronger CVs
  • Better access to future internships, learnerships, or employment opportunities

For NCV Level 4 graduates, this programme provides an important first step into the working world.
