Eskom NTCSA Learner and Graduate Opportunities 2026

The National Transmission Company South Africa (NTCSA), a subsidiary of Eskom, has opened applications for its 2026 Learner and Graduate Intake. This national skills development initiative offers 174 structured training opportunities across multiple provinces and disciplines, targeting learners, graduates, diploma holders, TVET students, and technical matriculants.

The intake forms part of NTCSA’s long-term strategy to develop critical technical, engineering, financial, human resources, safety, and artisan skills required to support South Africa’s electricity transmission network.

Programme Overview

The 2026 NTCSA intake provides on-the-job and institutional learning opportunities with training durations ranging from 12 to 36 months, depending on the programme category. Placements are available across Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo, Eastern Cape, Northern Cape, Free State, and Bloemfontein.

A total of 174 learner and graduate positions are available across technical, non-technical, engineering, finance, human resources, project delivery, safety, and artisan streams.

Engineer in Training Programme

The Engineer in Training programme offers 43 positions with a structured 24-month on-the-job training period.

Minimum Qualification

Applicants must hold a BEng or BSc degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electro-Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, or Computer Science or Information Systems Engineering.

Graduate in Training Programmes

All Graduate in Training programmes run for a period of 24 months and provide structured workplace exposure across various disciplines.

Graduate in Training – Engineering (Technical)

Applicants must hold a B degree in Architecture, Geology, or Land Surveying.

Graduate in Training – Energy Market Services and International Trading

Applicants must hold a B degree in Law, Commerce, or Accounting.

Applicants must hold a B degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Auditing, or Cost and Management Accounting.

Graduate in Training – Human Resources

Applicants must hold a B degree in Human Resource Management, Social or Behavioural Sciences, Information Systems, Social Work, Psychology, Industrial and Organisational Psychology, or Occupational Therapy.

Graduate in Training – Procurement and Supply Chain Management

Applicants must hold a B degree in Administration, Public Administration, or Commerce.

Applicants must hold a B degree, BTech, or Advanced Diploma in Safety Management, Behavioural Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Environmental Health, Natural Sciences, Environmental Management, Security Management, or Policing or Law at NQF Level 7.

Applicants must hold a B degree in Quantity Surveying, Commerce, Human Sciences, or Project Management.

Learner Programmes

Learner (Non-Technical)

This programme offers 11 positions based in Gauteng with a 12-month on-the-job training duration.

Applicants must hold a National Diploma in Information Technology, Commerce, Logistics, Transport, Supply Chain Management, Information Management, or Mechanical Engineering.

Technician in Training or Pupil Technician

A total of 57 positions are available across Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Bloemfontein, Eastern Cape, and Northern Cape. The programme runs for 12 months and combines institutional learning with workplace exposure, with an opportunity to attain a Diploma or complete P1 and P2 requirements.

Applicants must have completed S4 or hold a Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current), Civil Engineering, Surveying, or Electrical Engineering (Telecommunications).

Learner Artisan Programme

This programme offers 11 positions based in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal with a three-year training duration leading to a Trade Test Certificate.

Applicants must have completed Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science at 50 percent and English at 40 percent, or hold an N3 Engineering qualification with English at 40 percent, or an NCV Level 4 qualification with the required subject passes.

Application Process

All applications must be submitted via email to the relevant category-specific email address. Applicants must submit an updated CV, a certified copy of their South African ID, and certified copies of qualifications and academic transcripts. Certified documents must not be older than six months.

Late applications will not be considered, and applicants who do not receive feedback within 28 days after the closing date should regard their applications as unsuccessful.

Closing Date

The closing date for all applications is 21 January 2026.
