About the Programme

Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the Eastplats Mining Learnership, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Completed Grade 9 with Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy) and Science, or Communications and Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 1.
- Must be a South African Citizen.
- Hold a valid certificate of fitness (red ticket) or be willing to complete a medical fitness test.
Advantageous qualifications and experience:
- Level 2 National Certificate in Mining Operations.
- Previous team leader experience in a mining or related environment.
Key Responsibilities
Selected learners will be responsible for:
- Submitting a Curriculum Vitae (CV), certified copy of ID, and all academic results.
- Completing the required medical fitness examinations before employment.
- Fully committing to the training and practical components of the programme, including working underground as part of the learnership structure.
