Who Can Apply? (Eligibility Criteria)

To qualify for the bursary, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Must be a South African citizen.
  • Must be in Matric (2025) or have already completed Matric/NCV.
  • Must have the following subjects in Matric:
    • Agricultural Engineering / Bio-Resource Engineering: Mathematics and Physical Science.
    • Veterinary Technology: Mathematics, Physical Science, and Life Science.
  • Must be studying or intend to study at a registered South African Higher Education Institution in one of the approved fields.
  • Must be unemployed.
  • Must be in financial need:
    • Household income not more than R350 000 per year, OR
    • Not more than R600 000 per year if living with a disability.
  • Preference will be given to youth from the Eastern Cape, unemployed applicants, and candidates from historically disadvantaged groups.
  • Students from outside the Eastern Cape may also apply.
