About the City of Johannesburg Internship Programme 2025
This internship opportunity is part of CoJ’s commitment to skills development and community upliftment. It is specifically aimed at unemployed graduates who have never participated in any internship programme before and are residents of the City of Johannesburg.
The internship will offer hands-on administrative experience within the Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) unit—allowing interns to gain insight into public sector service delivery and human capital support functions.
Who Can Apply?
To be eligible, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4)
- A National Diploma (NQF Level 6) or Degree (NQF Level 7) in one of the following fields:
- Public Administration
- Business Administration
- Office Administration
- Social Auxiliary Work
- Social Sciences
- Must be unemployed
- Must have never participated in an internship before
- Must be a resident of Johannesburg
Key Responsibilities
As an intern, you’ll provide administrative and logistical support to the EAP unit, helping improve its overall efficiency and service delivery.
Learning Areas Include:
- Coordinating EAP administrative tasks
- Assisting with efficiency and promotion of the programme
- Preparing data and reports for statutory submissions

- Ability to work independently under pressure
