The Municipal Finance Management Internship Programme (MFMIP) aligns with the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA), Act 56 of 2003, and the Municipal Minimum Competency Regulations (Gazette 29967 of June 2007). It aims to provide in-depth exposure to various areas of municipal budgeting, financial reporting, and treasury management.
Successful candidates will enter into both an internship agreement and a 24-month fixed-term employment contract, during which they will participate in professional learning modules, workplace projects, and mentorship programmes under the Finance Department.

Minimum Requirements
To qualify for consideration, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Possess a Grade 12 certificate
- Hold a three-year Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma majoring in one of the following fields:
- Auditing
- Financial Accounting
- Risk Management (or a related discipline)
- Be a South African citizen
- Reside within the Blue Crane Route Municipality or surrounding areas (recommended)
