About the BET Software Bursary Programme
BET Software is inviting applications for the “Dare to Dream” Bursary for the 2026 academic year.
This bursary is specifically aimed at students pursuing ICT-related qualifications in South Africa. Fields of study supported by the bursary include:
- Computer Engineering
- Computer Science
- Cybersecurity
- Information Systems
- Information Technology and Information Systems
- Software Engineering
- System and Network Administration
Renewal & Graduate Opportunities
The BET Software bursary is awarded for one academic year at a time. Successful recipients are encouraged to reapply for funding each year.
After graduation, bursary holders will have the opportunity to join the BET Software Graduate Programme, gaining hands-on industry experience while further developing their professional skills.
Eligibility Requirements
To apply, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Currently in Matric or have completed Matric.
- Studying or intending to study in 2026 towards one of the listed ICT qualifications.
- Enrolled or planning to enrol at an accredited higher learning institution in South Africa.
- Minimum 65% average in Matric.
- Minimum 60% average in current tertiary studies.
- Students with disabilities are welcome to apply.

- Certified copy of Matric certificate (if applying for first-year studies).
- Detailed institutional quotation (for first-year applications).
- Latest statement of account and institutional quotation (for current students).
- Academic transcripts from the past 12 months.
- Motivational letter (maximum 2,000 words) explaining your reasons for applying and how the bursary will support your goals.
- Proof of address (affidavit or utility bill).
- Medical or doctor’s letter if you have a disability.
