Minimum Requirements

ASSMANG’s selection process focuses on academic performance, commitment and potential. Applicants must meet the criteria below:

For Matriculants

  • South African citizen aged 18–35
  • Bachelor pass / full university exemption
  • Preferably already accepted into a university for 2026
  • Must not be funded by NSFAS or another bursary

For University Students

  • South African citizen aged 18–35
  • Full-time study at a South African university or university of technology
  • Must be studying in one of the listed fields
  • Strong academics:
    • Average of at least 70%
    • All modules passed
  • Not receiving any other funding

Selection Preference

To support transformation and community development, ASSMANG prioritises:

  • Youth from disadvantaged backgrounds
  • Applicants from the John Taolo Gaetsewe District Municipality
  • Persons with disabilities
