About the Amandla Omoya Trust
The Amandla Omoya Trust is a community-focused trust holding shares in the Jeffreys Bay Wind Farm. Established in 2012, the Trust aims to support public benefit initiatives within a 50 km radius of the wind farm. Its mission is to strengthen resilience and improve social cohesion in local communities, including Jeffreys Bay, Humansdorp, Hankey, Patensie, and Thornhill.
Amandla Omoya Trust Bursary 2026 – Fields Covered
The Trust invites applications for its 2026 bursary programme, open to students residing within 50 km of the Jeffreys Bay Wind Farm in the Eastern Cape.
Bursaries are available for students pursuing any field of study at a minimum NQF level 6, including:
- Technical or skills training (e.g., plumbing, bricklaying)
- National Diploma programmes
- Degree programmes
Expenses Covered
The bursary provides financial support for:
- Registration and tuition fees
- Examination fees
- Study materials
- Accommodation and meals
The total bursary value will be determined individually based on need.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- South African citizen
- Reside within a 50 km radius of Jeffreys Bay Wind Farm (including Humansdorp, Jeffreys Bay, Weston, Hankey, Loerie, Thornhill, Patensie)
- Currently in Matric or have completed Matric
- Accepted or intending to study a Degree, National Diploma, or NQF level 6 technical or vocational programme in any field
- Accepted at a recognised public or private tertiary institution in South Africa (University, University of Technology, or TVET college)
- Demonstrate financial need
