About the Bursary Programme
As part of AECOM’s commitment to skills development and excellence in the built environment, the bursary aims to assist students in the following fields of study:
- Civil Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering (including Rail Engineering)
- Electrical Engineering
- Quantity Surveying
The bursary is open to students who are currently studying or intend to study full-time towards one of these qualifications. Applicants must demonstrate academic excellence, passion for their chosen field, and commitment to completing their studies successfully.
What the Bursary Covers
Successful applicants will receive comprehensive financial support that includes:
- Tuition fees, books, and accommodation (up to R100,000 per annum)
- A once-off laptop allowance of R8,000
Bursary Duration
The bursary will be renewed annually based on the bursar’s academic performance. A consistent average of 65% or above must be maintained to continue receiving support. Should performance drop below the minimum requirement, AECOM reserves the right to review or discontinue the bursary.
Upon graduation, recipients will be expected to work for AECOM for the same number of years that the bursary was awarded.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a South African citizen.
- Be highly motivated with a genuine passion for the built environment.
- Have no prior work experience (fresh students are encouraged to apply).
- Attained a minimum average of 75% in Grade 12 (Matric) or 65% in their most recent tertiary results.
- Be registered or intending to register full-time at a recognized South African tertiary institution for an Engineering or Quantity Surveying qualification.
