About the Role

The Learning and Development Partner will be responsible for delivering regionally or business unit-specific L&D solutions that are fully aligned with our strategy. This involves identifying capability gaps, developing targeted interventions, and working closely with the central L&D team to ensure consistent, high-quality execution.

You will play a vital role in fostering a culture of continuous learning while ensuring all programmes meet national standards and compliance requirements.


Minimum Requirements

  • Relevant degree in Human Resources, Business, or Psychology
  • Post-graduate qualification preferred
  • 3–5 years’ experience in HR and Learning & Development, ideally with regional or multi-site exposure

Key Responsibilities

1. Partner with Leadership

  • Collaborate with HRBPs and regional leaders to align L&D strategies with business priorities.
  • Translate capability needs into actionable training plans.

2. Conduct Learning Needs Analysis (LNA)

  • Identify performance gaps through engagement, feedback, and operational metrics.
  • Prioritise key development areas such as Store Manager mastery, Fresh Food Academy, and Frontline capability building.

3. Design & Deliver Bespoke Learning Solutions

  • Create targeted training across service delivery, compliance, product knowledge, and leadership.
  • Use a mix of in-person, e-learning, and on-the-job coaching for maximum impact.

4. Localise Group-Wide Initiatives

  • Implement group-level L&D programmes regionally, adapting to local context and culture.
  • Manage launch plans, change communication, and stakeholder engagement.

5. Monitor & Report on Learning Effectiveness

  • Track participation, completion rates, and learner feedback.
  • Maintain Regional Learning Dashboards for informed decision-making.

6. Ensure Skills Development Compliance

  • Manage training records, learner portfolios, and SETA-aligned processes.
  • Oversee learnership tracking and partnerships with external providers.

7. Drive Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute insights, best practices, and pilot results to the central L&D team.
  • Collaborate on functional learning projects to improve organisational performance.
