Key Responsibilities and Duties
Interns appointed to this role will be actively involved in the day-to-day operations of the purchasing and procurement environment. Daily duties will include creating purchase orders on the PeopleSoft Financials system, closing purchase orders, and processing financial transactions. Interns will also assist with handling general procurement enquiries within the office and providing administrative support where required. This exposure is intended to build a solid foundation in supply chain and financial operations within a higher education institution.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this internship, applicants must meet all of the inherent requirements set by the University of the Free State.
Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree or BTech degree at NQF Level 7 in Accounting. Candidates should not be studying full-time at the time of application and must be South African citizens or permanent residents.
This opportunity is strictly for individuals with no previous formal work experience. Applicants must also not have participated in any internship or learnership programme before and should not be currently enrolled in any similar programme. Successful candidates must be willing to sign a formal internship or learnership agreement with UFS and must be available to participate for the full 12-month duration.
