Vodacom Foundation Youth Development Programme 2026/2027

Through the Youth Development Programme, successful applicants will be placed as ICT Coordinators for a full two-year paid placement, gaining practical exposure as entry-level IT Technicians.

About the Vodacom Foundation

The Vodacom Foundation is Vodacom South Africa’s corporate social investment arm, working to uplift communities through technology, education, health initiatives, and youth empowerment. Many of their programmes are designed to reduce digital inequality and strengthen technological skills where they are needed most.

By placing ICT Coordinators at Schools of Excellence, NPOs, and ECD Centres, the Youth Development Programme equips young people with the practical experience, confidence, and IT skills needed to build successful careers in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.


What the Programme Offers

This two-year placement allows selected candidates to work as ICT Coordinators while receiving a monthly stipend. Participants will be based in different community-focused centres supported by the Vodacom Foundation and will gain entry-level IT experience that sets a strong foundation for future growth.


Key Responsibilities of ICT Coordinators

ICT Coordinators will support digital learning environments and ensure that schools and community centres have functioning technology. Daily tasks may include:

  • Maintaining computer labs and ICT equipment
  • Troubleshooting basic technical problems
  • Monitoring network stability and connectivity
  • Assisting teachers, learners, or organisational staff with ICT-related tasks
  • Ensuring smooth general operation of digital learning systems

This hands-on work experience prepares participants to handle a wide range of IT support duties in future employment settings.


Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Matric with at least a 50% average
  • A relevant IT Technical Support qualification
  • Must live within the area of the School of Excellence, NPO, or ECD Centre offering placement
  • South African citizenship with a valid South African ID
  • Age between 18 and 35 years
  • Must meet the specific residency requirements for each listed location

Please note that police clearance will be conducted, and only applicants living in the designated placement areas will be considered.
