Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria to qualify for consideration:
- Grade 10 qualification.
- Surf Proficiency Award Certificate.
- Valid retest certificate.
- Minimum of one (1) year relevant lifesaving experience.
- Applicants must be 16 years or older.

Key Responsibilities
As a Seasonal Lifeguard, appointed candidates will be responsible for ensuring safety and effective emergency response on municipal beaches. Core duties include:
- Performing rescues and responding promptly to drowning incidents.
- Monitoring beach and sea conditions to prevent accidents.
- Administering first aid to injured or distressed individuals.
- Operating rescue equipment, including inflatable boats.
- Assisting with crowd control and performing Peace Officer duties when necessary.
This is a physically demanding role that requires alertness, discipline, and the ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations.
