Through this Regulatory Internship Programme, MeDDIC aims to strengthen South Africa’s expertise in regulatory compliance. Interns will receive hands-on training through six-month placements in small, medium, and micro enterprises (SMMEs), science councils, or universities that are actively engaged in medical device research, manufacturing, or compliance processes.
Participants will gain exposure to real-world procedures for establishing and maintaining compliance for medical devices and diagnostics, ensuring they meet both national and international regulatory standards.

Location: Cape Town, Stellenbosch, Durban, Pietermaritzburg, Bloemfontein, Johannesburg, Pretoria
Duration: 6 months
Remuneration: R16 047 per month (cost-to-company)
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered:
- A four-year degree, three-year degree (preferably with Honours), or an Advanced Diploma in:
- Engineering
- Biomedical Engineering
- Biotechnology
- Quality Management
- Strong computer literacy and excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Must be a South African citizen or hold permanent residency.
Advantageous Qualities
- Prior exposure or experience in the medical devices and diagnostics sector.
